Default Kitsie's Black & White - final quilting decision...

actually I've kinda decided already but please let me know if you agree. Many of you suggested doing a larger version of the flower in the fabric. That was out for me because I don't FMQ and with the thin, black line design of the fabric, I felt it would just add another line and not stand out at all, even if hand-done.

With the leafy vine, doing it by machine also doesn't show well to me. I REALLY like the half where I tried hand-quilting just for fun! The quilt would be SID quilted for the rest of it with just these vines and I think for simplicity only the vertical vines would be done. (a crossed vine doesn't look good when drawn that way.) I'm not the best hand-quilter, but I'm satisfied with it. Sent a picture off to DC for her opinion, too.

Thank you all for your help! I really respect your opinions!

I think it's a great motif for that area. Your hand quilting looks great and in fact I prefer it to the machine quilting. Reason being is that the print has such thin lines that the machine quilting looks like part of the design - but the hand quilting stands out.

Your design is very pretty and the hand quilted one does show up better to me.

Your hand quilting is beautiful. Were you going to use white thread for it? I thought maybe you just used black as a demonstration.

Thanks All! I will use the black thread as I do want it to show! All of the quilt is sewn with black.

I agree with everything you said except about the hand quilting--your hand quilting is great!

Your hand quilting is fabulous and really accents that quilt. Good choice! What a different statement the hand quilted line makes from the machine quilted line. Due to lack of time, I rarely hand quilt, but it is time well invested!
