Question Good, quick patriotic quilt block pattern needed

Does anyone have a good block pattern that I can use to make for our Quilt Guild? It has to be patriotic and has to be a generous 12 1/2 inch block and, of course, has to have the red, white and blue colors. I looked at several blocks, but nothing grabs me so far.

How about the Ohio Star block. You can do the star in red and blue, the background in white.

Go to quilterscache.com and look around. So many star blocks to choose from and it tells you the sizes. Another that is simple and looks nice is rail fence, make 4 sections of 3 strips, one red,one white, one blue. Put the 4 together with top left and bottom right going vertical and the other 2 going horizontal. Looks a little like a flag when you are done, quick and easy.

Any block can be done in red, white, and blue. Good idea to check Quilters Cache. She has tons of blocks and many are 12 inches. She also has many star blocks. Good luck in your search.

Default A Quick Patriotic quilt

I found nothing simpler than this pattern. You can cut your squares either 6.5" or 8.5 inches. It is in Eleanor Burns Stars across America book. She calls it the Eight pointed Star setting. It also has been in Fons & Porter magazine. PM me if you need additional info. GOOD LUCK !!!

I am sure you'll get a lot of patterns, but maybe with the leftovers you could make two quick-to-make quilts: "County Lines" (by Kari Nichols of/for Mountainpeek Creations) or "Yellow Brick Road" (by Teri Atkinson of/for Atkinson Designs). I've done nice scrap quilts of these for many charities (such as Quilts of Valor) to the point where our guild has patriotic fabrics cut out in the rectangles/squares forming each quilt block so we just grab and go with sashing strips.
