I buy cotton men's shirts and cut them up. Sometime I get them for .50 I also look for gored wool skirts for my felted woolen works.

You can find good deals at thrift stores. If you go to one often and make friends with the people running the store you can ask them to notify you when fabric etc. comes in.

Thumbs up

I wish your Goodwill would move to my town. I haven't found fabric there or at any other thrift store that amounted to anything. I'm jeolous. Enjoy making lots of quilts from all that great fabric.

I don't have a Good Will store near, but I do have a Salvation Army store nearby. I think some areas are good for fabric and sewing items and some aren't. The one near me never has anything like that. I needed shirting fabric and thought I would get some men's shirts and cut them up. They were $4.99 each. I decided that I would buy new fabric rather than spend that much on used shirts. My daughter goes there all the time and gets receiving blankets for her dog's cage for $.50 each. Then she just throws them away when the dog is done with them.
