aww, this just warms the cockles of my mousie heart, quilt4u!
I just walk on air, after something like this happens! :D
There are a lot of ppl out there that would love to help kids and those truly in need, out, but they don't know how, or who to trust.
You blessed these ppl by their being able to do this. I bet they stepped lightly all day too! :-D

Texasannie,

Sounds like you have been through a lot. I am glad that a wonderful story like this came along to help you out of your troubles. There are great people out there, loving, caring and giving. I know this from personal experience...and I know that you and your hubby are that kind of folks too, from hearing what you have been through..all for the love of your GD. Please try to remember that you have given all you can give and that you would be continuing to do so if outside forces had not acted to stop you. Don't give up on your young GD, one of these days she will realize what true love is and when she does, she will need you even more.

God Bless.

TexasAnnie, I completely agree with Nursie76. What you did was a wonderful thing for your grand-daughter and she won't realize it until well into adulthood. You did the right thing.

As for paying it forward, what a wonderful gesture for those waiting in line to do for you! Very heartwarming.

Thank you Quilter7x,.....my payforward will be her succeeding in the goals she had originally set for herself...a college degree, a home of her own......she is a very good person underneath all that hurt.....now I need to turn my hurt inoto helping those rejected children/young women/men (of course anonomously, because I get too passionate and too attached) who have no one! Not as a replacement but as a means of reminding them that life is good, and good people are a part of life! Thank you for your words of encouragement! You all are totally awesome.

Loving someone unconditionally, especially when they don't deserve it (don't take that the wrong way, please), is one of the hardest and the most rewarding things we can do.

Forgiveness is another very rewarding aspect of our lives. We may not forget, but in time, and with God's help, we can forgive.

Texasannie, I pray you hang in there. There will be a day when she comes back to you and you need to be ready with that unconditional love, especially when it seems no one else will be.

Very wise advise.....you are so right on. Thank you.

I can not turn my back on her. I am in counseling because I keep giving and giving because I can not turn off the love, even when I'm hurt so deeply. I just need to learn to expect resepect and honor, to accompany the unconditional love I have for her. Unconditional love does not mean abuse, and this is what I need to learn. It's not that I don't try to be kind to her, it is understanding and accepting she can not accept my love at this time?

Thank you so much for your words....reminds me I need to stay focused!
