I appreciate this place for a number of reasons. I have read the posts so far and I think that my reasons are a combination of them all. I haven't been a member for even a month yet but anytime I have had a question it has been answered be it through posting or by me searching the archives. I do know that quilters are a loving and caring bunch of people. I so look forward to becoming more involved in this site as I learn more about what I am doing. I also know that if there is something that I am not sure about all I have to do is ask and it will be answered. My dear grandmother never got a chance to teach me quilting before she left this world but I do feel like I have found a place to learn about quilting and a place to fit in. Happy quilting all!!!, thumbup, thumbup

Besides all the patterns, suggestions, pictures, and "thumbs up", I've gained confidence in my quilting. I don't plan on entering any contests, but I am having fun making something out of love for my family and friends. I also get to see other people's stash and that's almost as much fun as going to the LQS and touching it. haha

I almost didn't post anything on this thread as you all have said in different ways what I feel. I also don't have many family members close and my friends don't quilt. So this has become my quilting family. I feel that you all are friends. The love that is shared here is awesome. To all my brothers and sisters in quilting counting the people that make this site available I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish that I could meet each and everyone of you someday to thank you in person. Since that doesn't seem like it will happen, would you all please put your arms around yourself and squeeze. That's a big hug from me. Thank you all. BrendaK

I love that I have a safe place to come to during the sleepless hours in the middle of the night. I have several painful conditions that make it difficult to sleep. So I get up and read all of the inspirational, informative, loving, funny and caring posts here. They make me smile, laugh and forget about the pain for a little while. They often give me incentive to try new projects. I have discovered You Tube and the vast amount of information posted there. I know if I have a question I can ask it here and someone (usually many someones) will be willing to provide a supportive response. I especially love that I can find humor here that is wonderful and safe enough to share with my 89 year old mother. We live a thousand miles apart but sharing the laughs from the jokes and stories I find here brings us closer together in our hearts. So thank you to all of you.

Like QuiltnNan, the wealth of information that is available as well as the creative ideas from more experienced quilters is incredible. I get inspiration and encouragement from all the postings. It's an amazing source for so much information. Thanks to everyone who is a part of this and a special thanks to those who started this Board.

There's not much I can add to what has allready been very well said, but everytime I'm here, I feel like I'm home. At least for me, it's the home that I wish I could have had. Love, laughter, help, inspiration..........the list go's on. Thank you all.

Ditto ditto ditto...I love this board - Like many others i have no quilting friends and my son & extended family are all 1000 miles away. (luckily daughter and grand-daughters are close by)
Everyone here is so kind and helpful - even after all these years, i've learned so much - seeing your quilts inspires me -- and the fact that so many of us "think alike" is a comfort to me -cuz sometimes i wonder if i'm "OK", ya know?? Thanks for starting this thread -- and thank you to all the wonderful gals and guys out there -- it's so nice to be part of such a great community !!!

The Quilting Board has taught me many things. I appreciate everyone that shares their knowledge because it enhances someone else's mental library. Have learned a lot about Sewing Machines which helps a lot at charity I work at. We
have a lot going on there and one thing is teaching people to sew, and if they don't have a machine, we give them one
that we have picked up, fixed up and it is ready to go home with them. Our main machine fixer upper is very elderly
and we were running short on machines, had a lot, but needed fixin. So, started bringing them home with me and figureing
how to get them back up and running again. Now if I can just find homes for some of the older machines I have kicking around here, life will be good. Most of our people that we teach to quilt, choose the newer plastic machines.

I have found a "gazillion" new best friends through QB. I know I will get the TRUTH when I ask a question here. And the support is so wonderful; when I am in a funk, my friends jump in to make me feel better. When I am having difficulty with a pattern, my friends jump in to encourage me to stick with it. I could go on and on and on. I have been sewing for many more years than most of you are old, and I learn something new every day. Thank You QB, and all my friends here.
