I am going to look for one of those. With RA I have such a hard time with the ones I have. Thank you for telling us about it.

The space available to put the screwdriver in between the feed dog plate and machine head isn't large enough to put a standard screwdriver. I got a short handled one that is barely short enough, but this looks even better. Thanks.

I don't think it would do damage to the computerized machine as the magnitized part is in the base of the screwdriver and used to hold the different bits in place. To my knowledge, it is not magnatized any place else.

Harbor Freight is a fine source for quilters. I got my mechanic's tool cabinet, my magnetic parts trays (pins, bobbins)and 2 books of scroll saw patterns. Those are great sources for applique. I also got one telescoping magnet for picking up pins. When my DH is prowling there, I go in too.

I sent two Ladies to Harbor Freight and Lowe's today. We were standing in line at Joann's cutting table. When one of them had a pair of scissors used for snipping rag quilts. Her friend said she needed a pair also, but her friend had a death grip on the last pair..lol
So I told them you can buy the snippers in the garden section of Lowe's, HF had magnetic bowels really cheap and blades for their rotary cutter for less than $2.00 a pack.

I use a a really stubby magnetic screwdriver on my machines. As far as I can tell there is nothing but moving machine parts under there. No circuit boards or things to get damaged by a magnet. I think if you used a magnet like they do in workshop to pick up nails and such off the floor it would mess things up.

Just don't let the magnetic tips near the display screens on your machines.

I'm just envious of "having" a Joanns and HF right next door. :-)

My husband came home last week, from Harbor Freight, with one of these for me. Love it.
