I am planning on printing a panel with a wedding wish for my nephew. I will be using one of "grandpa's"shirts and ironing it onto a piece of freezer paper before printing. My question is can it be washed in the washing machine?

Do you have a laser printer or ink jet? I couldn't get the ink jet to survive being washed. What if you wrote with a permanent ink marker/pen?

I haven't tried it myself, but I ave read that the brand of ink makes a difference on whether it will hold up to the wash.

If you treat the fabric with bubble Jet Set first you can wash it otherwise mine have just washed out even with heat setting.

NO!

You need to treat the fabric to have the ink 'weave & set' into the fabric. I use 'Bubble Jet Set'. My DGD still has her 'baby' quilt and she is 8 yrs old, it has be washed MANY times. Plus some of my 'utility' quilts (for picnic, grass sitting, races, etc) that have laundered a lot. Or you can purchase per-treated sheets like Printed Treasures, but that wouldn't using 'grandpa's shirts'.

I use a product called EQ printables - Injet Fabric Sheets. They are only white, but have been washed many times. Might be adviseable to purchase them and then make a border around your saying with the shirt fabric.

You just download the photo and/or document you want. Great bw or color prints.

100% cottonfabric / 200 thread count. You get (6) 8.5 X 11 sheets per package. Cost varies from $15-20 dollars, but I think it's a great investment.
