Umm... if you look at how big a bite eBay and PayPal will take from the sellers of those fabrics, then you'll have a better idea of why the prices are as high as they are.

I mean, if you want to just get rid of your extra fabric, and don't care if you make any money on the deal, you could just donate it to a local charity. And it'd be a lot quicker and easier than listing it on eBay.

Personally, I sometimes buy on eBay, but as to selling... well, it just seems to be a whole lot of effort for, well, not a lot of reward per sale. Though I know several people who love to sell on eBay and do so quite successfully.

I used to get "lots" of fabric on e-bay. The change started when folks would list in "12 yards +" and then the bidding price would be per yard, instead of the entire piece. Then, the categories were rearranged, and the people who sold by the yard were now selling FQs for the same price. People who had sold FQs are cutting them into strips or charms in order to get higher prices.

I haven't bought fabric there in a couple years, but look from time to time, and will need to sell off some of my stash soon.

I used to sell on eBay and did really well but when they started to change policies a couple years ago I quit all together. If you list an item for .99 and lets say it sells at .99 you are out over a $1 after PayPal and eBay fees, so you are losing money.

Ebay is nothing but a racket and I will not even buy on there anymore. I will look every once in a while but NEVER buy.

I tend not to use e-bay for fabrics that I can get at a shop (even on-line stores). I only have gone there to get specific prints. I have gotten several african ladies there and Keith Mallet paintings turned into panels. To me is more of the fact that people sell any fabric as quilting fabric that are not, and I hate to receive fabrics that are stiff or smell.

I love to look as well as buy stuff on ebay. Sometimes you can find marvelous prices as well as things you can't find anywhere else! :D

Here is a place I found where fabrics are reasonable.
http://www.blujay.com/?page=search&tnd=unc

You have to register to buy or sell and it doesn't cost anything. They use Paypal also. They have real nice websites also.

Merry Christmas,
Norene
