The main guild I belong to meets at a women's club. Another guild I belong to meets in the church's banquet hall and a third guild I belong to meets at a senior center. Keep looking. There is a space for you somewhere at no or reasonable cost.

Try a local Grange building, 4-H center or a camp.

We meet in the activity center of a church. Other guild meets in one of the rooms in the community building on 4-H grounds. I suspect they pay rent. We do too.

We also meet in the lovely community room in a local bank. We have 2 banks in town that allow clubs such as the 4-H club, scout clubs, and our quilting quild to meet in their community room free.

Do any of the local banks have a hospitality room? Our bank is happy to let us use theirs, no kitchen , but there is space to make coffee and tea. Also, some of the employees come in and admire the projects, have been known to carry them to the main room to show customers!! Ask, it can't hurt. Also, some utility companies have conference space available to the public. piecefully, the old one

Sounds like you need to check around your neighborhood and see where any large rooms are located. Sounds like a lot of possibilities - and all that may be needed is a simple request.

Is your group a 'non-profit organization' or a group of women who gather for quilting charitable and personal quilts?
