Where does their fabric compare to LQS or Joanns or Walmart? I've never been to one.

Thanks

Do you mean the chain store? If so I would compare it with Joann's or Hobby Lobby. I've bought very little fabric from walmart so I'm not sure what they usually have. If you mean the Hancock's of Paducah in KY, they are LQS quality.

We used to have a Hancock Fabrics, the chain one. I really liked it...was like a small JoAnns, to me.

You have to watch the fabric quality, some is good, some not so much, in my experience.

My thoughts exactly too! Ours is really small(compared to JoAnn's) , but bigger than some of our LQS's.

Ditto. And some of the stores were full of home interior junk with very little quilting fabric or supplies. They went through a reorganization a couple years ago and seem to have gotten rid of some of the crap. How many gazing balls does a person really need?

Hancocks fired their CEO(who used to be with JoAnns)...they are in the hiring phase now!

I used to be a buyer for Hancock's, they sure changed when that lady from JA took over....

the store near where i live has excellent quality quilting fabric, for the most part and a pretty decent variety. you won't find many "cheap quality" fabric. prices have not gone up yet either. i've also been to the one in lacrosse, wisconsin, which is quite large, and they sell some cheapy fabric there in addition to the good stuff. my hancocks is small in comparison, so maybe that is why they pretty much only carry good quality.
