Hand Quilting Batting
#5
I use Warn and Natural cotton for everything, I bught some Mountain Mist 80/20 once that said it was for hand quilting and after I had basted it to a queen size top and started hand quilting it pulled through the fabric with every stitch. I was not a happy camper.

I prefer the Hobbs 80/20, Quilters Dream Request, Legacy 80/20 or 100% cotton or Tuscany 100% cotton. Washable wool (Hobbs, Tuscany) also needles very easy and it is a pleasure to quilt it. Of course you can also use a low loft poly batting!
I don't like battings with a scrim for hand quilting, it is not so easy to quilt them and I can't reach the result I would like to have.

I have used Warm and Natural, Bamboo - which is like a dream to work with, and the latest one I tried was Dream Puff which is also lovely, the last two are very lightweight and very easy to quilt - didn't even have to use a thimble!!! I find the warm and natural heavy in a big quilt on my lap!!!!
