I just got mine a couple months ago - you're going to LOVE it! I still turn mine on just so I can listen to the angel music!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Love your family tradition! In mine, my four brothers and I would try to avoid getting a piece of the birthday cake that had one of the toothpicks my mother had put in to keep the layers from shifting. If you got a toothpick, you had to do the dishes!

Anyway, I'm so glad you got the machine you truly wanted. Many of us sacrifice to do for others again and again...it's time to do for US once in a while!

Good advice for all of us with these machines. If I know a storm is coming, I am so paranoid (because of how much they cost) that I go around and actually unplug my machine and my laptop from the surge protector! I guess I don't even trust the surge protectors. I can afford a new tv if a storm gets it - but not a new laptop or definitely not a new embroidery or sewing machine! (grin).
