I don't have much luck with the cloth markers I have. They are hard substance and don't mark anything. What kind do you suggest that will brush or fade or wash away? I want ti mark stencils and other reasons when quilting and sewing.

Believe it or not, Crayon washable markers. They're wonderful.. Use any color except the yellow, it turns brown and will not come out. I use it faithfully for my Appliqe projects and love it.

i use a regular lead pencil - use magic eraser to erase if needed. Some have mentioned the use of shaving soap scraps to a sharp point...

I use several different kinds, but like the ones that go away with water the best.

How about those blue washable pens? They come out with a damp cloth.
