Default Has anyone else done this.

I was hand sewing a reverse applique block and when I had finished the centre white section picked it up to look at my handy work and blow. Blow blow. I had stitched one of the corners underneath . This is the finished block.

know one will know unless you tell them! it looks good from the picture---unless it's for a show to be judged no one is going to study it looking for mistakes. the good thing about (hand made) is it doesn't look as if some factory machine pumped it out along with a million just like it.
the Amish will turn a block upside down or do some other (error) on purpose if their quilt is looking too perfect---because only God creates perfection-and thinking about that....ever seen 2 perfectly exact leaves, or snowflakes, or trees, ..... your block is very nice!

I didn't notice it. Just don't point it out and very few other people will either.

you would have to point out the mistake to me, too. btw for the amish to purposefully do something imperfect would not be right. i have heard that it only shows ones vanity, i think that is the word for it.

been there, done that. I was applique-ing while on the subway to work. I went to put the applique away and had sewn it to my skirt!

If you're talking about the bottom right, where it's more rounded than pointed, no one but a fellow reverse-appliquer would notice. And it took me a full five minutes of careful study.

Your block is lovely! Unless you have already corrected it, I sure can't see anything wrong with it. Have I stitch something into my hand sewing? Yes, ME. I once stitched in a bit of my cotton shirt tail into the back of my hand stitching.
