Default Has anyone made the Ring Cycles quilt ?

https://payhip.com/b/4ICh

It uses the Jack's Chain block. I ordered the download of the pattern. It doesn't seem as intimidating broken down into segments. I would love to get some feedback from someone who has made this quilt.

I found the designer Lessa Siegele has a video about this quilt on The Quilt Show.

Oops, the video is not about this quilt but another one of her designs.

I've not made that or even seen it before. What a beautiful quilt! I would love to see it it scrappy, two & three color combos, etc.

We just started another 9 patch block swap here on the board. I was thinking of doing the Jack's Chain pattern with mine, tho the circles will be bigger because the 9Ps are 6". This is the free pattern I was going to use for inspiration:

According to the pattern, other segments have to join the Jack's Cross blocks to make the ring illusion and fit the blocks together. Half hexagons are used too. The pattern shows three different ways to sew the block. I think I will make the ring first then sew it to a square middle to make the hexagon. Looks very complicated but the units are easy to make.

I have finally finished (except binding) this Jack's Chain - but it has been renamed 'Jack the Ripper'!!!!! OMG it was a challenge and so glad to have it done. BUT, it really is beautiful. I did my through a book by Deloa Jones. Wish I knew how to do pictures (not a techie)

I have the pattern downloaded and am gathering strips for the nine patches. Still need background. It is on the schedule for this winter.

I have made a couple of simplified versions of Jack's chain. They were simplified because there were no set in seams. I've always wondered... Is it Jack's Chain, like jack & jill or Jacks Chain, like the ball & jacks game we used to play as kids.
