Default It holds my pedal in place!

I finally found a product that keeps my sewing machine pedal from scooting away. It's made to stick on the dashboard to hold your cellphone. For just $8 I can finally know where that pesky pedal is all day. The only catch is that it won't stick on a carpet. I found mine at the local shipping business, but I bet they're available at office supply stores.

Good suggestion..... except I have a carpeted floor in my sewing room. I recently discovered that Command strips work great for that pedal problem. I put the sticky side on the bottom of the pedal, and the nubby, velcro-like side down on the carpet. Haven't had a problem with the pedal slipping away since I put it on....

I have a pedal mat (I think I bought it from Connecting Threads), but it still scooted. So a couple of weeks ago I bought a small bath rug to go under the pedal mat. So far it is working. Feels kinda of weird that my pedal is staying in one place - I have been chasing my pedal for years....lol

I have carpet also, and found that a dollar-store silicone trivet works best. Second best is two cheapo dollar-store mouse pads, glued back-to-back, so the grippy sides are out.

I purchased a Steady Betty foot pedal rest and it is absolutely worthless. My foot pedal scoots across it like it's buttered. So, I put it on top of my ironing tray and press small blocks on it. It works great for THAT purpose!

My problem is that mine slips forward and under the table's middle rung (I sew at the kitchen table) and when I lift my foot, it KEEPS SEWING!!

::skips off to look for cellphone pad::

I took 2 mouse pads and glued them right sides together. It holds my foot pedal right where I need it to be.

I use the 2" wide industrial velcro tape. The car mat I used worked very well, as the pointy things on the bottom 'dug' into the carpet. But I also needed to have a short wooden foot stool under the table and the one I had was a little long and got in the way of the car mat. So, I put the velcro on the bottom of the pedal and placed the loop section on the carpet. It sticks and never moves! I have pulled the hook and loops apart to vacuum the floor. Then press back together. Already had it on hand for other household projects so was no expense to my sewing and quilting.

In sewing room I have a rubber backed doormat and pedal still moves. I'm going to try velcro on the bottom of the pedal and see if that stops the creeping. I quilt in dining room, hardwood floor and I use a rubber mat, still moves. I just keep pulling it back to where I need it to be.
