How about some flying geese instead of stars in the border?

I like the smaller, especially the one in the top row.

I'm not loving them either. I kind of like the flying geese idea.

i think making stars in the border distracts from the beauty of the center stars. a border with a completely different theme would be my choice

I think the three stars in the center go together - how about making a table runner?

Back to the drawing board. EasyPeezy, your suggestion of flying geese has sparked an idea. I am thinking Deb Tuckers Migrating Flying geese may work.

No real help here, just had to say I love how your center stars seem to shine against the black fabric. It will make a pretty quilt.

Pretty stars but I'm not sure what you are asking.

I like just the black. That is very striking to me.
