Mine comes into the sewing room, is apparently oblivious to what I'm doing, and doesn't even ask about anything quilt related. When I've finished something though he's very complimentary.

My DH would never think about hinting for me to cook. He would say I'm hungry you want something, I'm going to get pizza. He knows not to mention I need to clean OUR house. He learned that with OUR first baby when he said the baby needs a diaper change and handed her to me.

I promised my dh when we got the condo and i got a sewing room, everything would be in the sewing room. it's now in the sewing room, living room and on the dining room table. oh well, I tried.
As far as dinner is concerned, he's said to me, wanna go out, or i'm ordering in so you don't have to stop. He's a wonderful man, and I'm so lucky I have him.

I'm color blind, too. Profoundly, per my Dr. I see brights well, but all those shade variations elude me, and there is many a quilt that should dazzle me but doesn't.

However, since I am color blind and do not make it a secret, i can wear uncomplementary clothing and no one says a word. There's an upside to everything.

My DH likes that I have a hobby, and is supportive. He just wishes I had a neat hobby!

No, mine is very much involved. He has a comfy chair in the sewing room where he watches TV, takes naps with the cat, and/or keeps me company. When he goes out into his wood shop I do not reciprocate. lol

Next Sunday is our 50th anniversary and we are very happy almost all the time. He has a hobby of model railroading and has a train layout in our unfinished portion of the basement. It is adjacent to my sewing room which was intended to be a family room-which we don't need. He has a traditional sense of division of tasks. He never cooks and has no intention of doing it. He cleans the floors and I do the rest. I do the laundry and he gets it dirty. I do not mess with cars or lawn mowing, etc. It works for us and we appreciate each other. We think the key to life is for each one to have love and respect and yet enjoy personal space and activity.

My DH is very accommodating of my quilting, and will occasionally bring home a quilting magazine from the library for me, but to say he gets excited about my hobby would be an overstatement. He is just as content to watch sports and play online games for hours in the family room while I'm holed up contentedly in my sewing room. I call it "parallel play".

He knows that creating is relaxing for me, and a relaxed wife means a relaxed life. LOL

Parallel play! LOL! My DH is a sports nut (tv and fantasy leagues) and a writer, so we both keep busy with our "own" things. He'll just hollar out and let me know that "dinner is in....minutes" while I'm sewing or quilting. He also does the grocery shopping, his laundry and floors--and toilets!---I pointed out when we first set up house together that I don't miss! I do my laundry, all dusting and "deep" cleaning (which I'm behind in both!) and we split outdoor chores. Really, we have both always shared responsibilities even with the kids. And he always likes to see the finished project and is complimentary, usually!
