I love kits - some I sew up right away, others I have in my stash still - sometimes I break into them if I need a particular bit of fabric that I see will match a quilt I'm working on. I usually buy them at quilt shows or the ones on display at quilt shops - the end product inspires me. The colors are all matched and ready to go.

I have made several kits from the LQS. One was Brown Bear, which was nice because I didn't have to buy each fabric separately.

I have made quilts from kits and have some still waiting to be made, but I also like picking my own fabrics for patterns from magazines, books, and the web. It's kind of "whatever strikes me" I guess.

I've done a few kits, but find I like choosing the fabrics for a design so only buy a kit when its on clearance. Have a friend who does kits all the time. She did 40 projects this last year. Yikes.

Only purchased one - but haven't even opened it yet.

Needed it for the center panel

I've bought a couple at thrift stores lately. Usually have avoided them because I haven't liked the particular colors, etc. but found one that I just loved at thrift store with the price still on for $85 & I got it for $7. Everything was there too

I have only bought kits for PP and stained glass. I prefer to buy or stash hop for my quilts. I like odd combinations of color.

I have bought a couple of them and was very happy with them. I have found pieces of fabric I didn't like in the kit and went to my stash for the perfect piece of fabric
