Yes. Political, ironic and crazy quilts can get art prices. Crazy quilts have to be skillfully done but all else can show an amateur hand.

I have sold several for $700 to $800, baby crib quilt starts at $125.00, wall hangings $125 and $300.00.

I have sold three but only made a bit after re-cooping material costs. Mostly just give away to good friends and family.

I have sold a few baby quilts, but I only charged double what the fabric cost. If they paid 40 for the fabric I charged 80.

Made one for a "friend?" she paid me $20.00 cause she could buy one at Walmart for that Sold another to a co worker for $120.00 she bought the fabric. Hand Quilted backed and put batting in another for $70.00. All were hand Quilted.

Ive made a lap quilt and a matching quilts -a smidge smaller than a twin and sold them both as a set for $450.00..

Baby quilts are usually donated but if commissioned wont take less than $30 for a simple one

No, because I put so much time and love into the quilts that I make that I can't stand the thought of them belonging to a stranger. So, I give them as gifts to my family and friends but only the ones that I know will love them as much as I do.

Those whom I've given gifts ,sons, duaghters, sisters; if they want a second, they buy the materials.

Most of the quilts I make are gifts to extended family members. So, I haven't charged anyone. I have a friend who wanted me to make her daughter a rag quilt a while ago. I told her we can make it together. I showed her what to do, she bought a mat, ruler and rotary cutter and we worked together. Now she knows how to make one herself. Doubt that she ever will, but she has that knowledge.

Same friend (she's a really good friend) asked me to make a quilt for her son. Told her the same thing. We can make one together. It may take a long time to complete seeing how the fabric is at my home waiting for her to come over to cut it. It's been here for about 2 months. I will not work on it without her, as I'm not being paid.

I have made one quilt that I will eventually get paid for...for this same friend's daughter. But I'm holding onto it until she finishes the one for her son. Here's a link to that one...
