Hi! Welcome! Have you tried going to the top of this page and click on "search", then type in "beginning quilting". I too am a beginner. I've found this very helpful. Go down aways, there is one from "Amma", Beginning to Quilt? See if this is any help. Be sure and read this site from the board everyday. I have found so many things here and everyone is so helpful. Good luck! Don't be afraid to ask a question. The only dumb question is the one that isn't asked. [Smile]

Welcome from Maryland, Sheila! Start with the internet. I've been quilting for about 2 years. I knew absolutely nothing either and self taught myself from the internet, dummy books and idiot books. And many other books. I just love those Dummy Books!

Welcome! Go to the library and get a couple books. Browse thru. Look for a simple pattern and start there. You will learn alot here on the board too. Everyone shows wonderful projects and you will get ideas from that. But don't worry it will fall in place. I started the same way. I started with strips. cut and sew cut and sew. It's easy and you can build from there. You can create anything. It is possible! If you want help along the way... You can use the pm messaging. It works great. Good luck!!

Welcome from Texas. My best tip is to ask questions here. I can't tell you how many times I have been stuck, posted a question, and had several answers within minutes. (I have been quilting just over a year.)

Find your local quilting shops and join a class to learn the basics. Welcome from Southern California!

Hello from VA. I would find a local quilt store (lqs) ask about quilt guilds and classes. You will find all levels of Quilters and some wonderfully helpful ladies and gentlemen. Looking forward to seeing your first creation.
