I want to put a bias binding on a baby quilt that is square. The fabric has stripes so in order to get an interesting design I need to cut on the bias, (my first time) I used the search to find how to make bias but don't see how to go around a corner. Do you do the same as a regular binding where you stop 1/4" from corner then angle up, then down and start sewing from top edge?

Thanks for your help!

Exactly the same way as straight binding. I love using stripes like that - it gives any quilt a fabulous finish.

I like to heavily starch the fabric before cutting the binding strips. This makes them more like straight-grain strips so they don't stretch out of shape easily.

Here are links to Leah Day's videos on sewing binding. Might help you with the corners:

I too love strips on the bias for binding. Always makes a great finish!

I also treat it just like a regular binding.

depending on how the stripes are on the fabric i've usually just cut the length of the fabric to get the stripes going the way i want them to for my binding. don't always have to do bias unless you want them on more of an angle.
