Default Really quick question....

My friend,s birthday is next week and I want to make her some mug rugs with Maxine fabric squares but what do I put between the fabric layers, warm and natural? Or insul??something or some thin layer of batting (I have really thin cotton batting)

Thanks for any help

Oh forgot to mention these are 7" squares. I sure hope they won't be big as I didn't want to lose any part of the design

Just put cotton batting between the layers as you would a quilt. After all they are just a mini quilt. Cute fabric!

As it is only a mug rug any small pieces you have left from cutting larger quilts will do.

the product you mentioned is "insul-bright", and it is used to protect hands and surfaces from really hot stuff, like something that just comes out of the oven or off the stove. to make a mug rug with it would be over-kill since the mug wouldn't be hot enough to scorch a surface.

I typically use Warm & Natural or Warm & White for mug rugs.

I've used whatever batting I have left over! BUT the idea of adding insulator sounds good to me. This way they can have the multipurpose of hot pads too
