Default Help Identifying This 8-Point Star Variation?

I love this variation on a Hunter's/Lemoyne Star quilt and wonder if anyone can help with a name or pattern source? Many thanks.

Can you repost a picture? The file you posted requires it to be downloaded to view, myself I am wary of downloading random files.

Can you give me guidelines? I can convert the picture from the docx format (MS Word) to a .jpg, if that helps, but I don't know how to attach "a picture" to a post.

Post a link to where you found the picture. Links work best and easiest.

There are lots of free patterns for Hunter's Star quilts, you should be able to copy the color placement from the picture and use any pattern. Here's one at quilter's cache: https://www.quilterscache.com/H/HuntersStarBlock.html

Franella ... thank you for sharing this pattern. I do like the visual with the darks placed to give a SIAS effect. You could achieve it by making the Hunter's Star Blocks according to the colour placements you want.

However .... what I do see is that there are misplacements of the blocks. At least, that is what I see, unless someone else can sort my eyes out?

Sooooooo ... to help avoid this dilemma, a colouring sheet, can help identify what colours go where and make life a bit easier! Found this colouring sheet, along with a pattern.

Actually, the "misplacement: of some of the blocks is one of the things I like about the quilt. I love quilts that are somewhat random.

Peckish--thanks so much for getting back to me. I have tried to retrace my steps, but can't find the web page featuring this quilt, not for lack of searching. I have several Hunters Star patterns, rulers, and EQ8, but I just wasn't clever enough to figure out how to reconfigure the SIAS effect. I think QuiltE's Jan Krentz coloring sheet is just the ticket. Thanks again and best.

You're welcome Frannella.... I did a difficult SAS design a few years back, and the colouring sheet was my roadmap to success! Hope it helps you get yours done the way you want it with all the blocks placed, as you wish! Goes to show, that what one sees as "right" is "not right" in another's eyes! And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that ... we can each be right (for our own likings) !
