Hello!

Has anyone seen anything like this?

I want to make a very good friend a lap quilt using the stack n whack kaleidoscope method and she breeds lurcher dogs.

If anyone sees any around, please let me know. Ideally a medium print with a large repeat of the pattern.

Thanks!

Sorry - I wasn't scrounging! I want to buy it, I need 4 or 5 yards depending on the repeat. A lurcher is a cross between a greyhound or wolfhound and a collie. Here's a link http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images15...PhotoPenny.JPG

They differ quite a lot but my friend's look something like this. I know it's a long shot but I got a bee in my bonnet and thought one of you may have seen something on your travels!

Thanks Loretta - I hadn't found that one, yes I've been a-googlin'! Had a look, some greyhounds but only b&w. I might have to go with a generic doggy fabric but I'm not ready to give up on lurchers just yet! Thanks again for your help!

PS I gave your love to England!!!

Yes, makes me a bit homesick BUT lots of traffic and a lady tried to pinch my purse in a sewing shop - that doesn't happen here so glad to be home in France!

K, just looked up what a lurcher is. I have never heard of them. What a neat looking dog, and from what I read, they are fun and loving.

Ducky, my friend's dogs are lovely! They are classed often as poacher's dogs and people worry that they'll chase everything that moves because of the hound in them but not Ash and Maisie (his Mum)! They live with a cat and are wonderful with kids and other dogs alike. I would love to have one but there is a lot of prejudice against them here in rural France -my DH (who hunts with the locals) says that he has heard farmers will shoot them on sight, it's certainly illegal to hunt with them. So I daren't risk it.

HAD to check this thread because I had no idea what a "lurcher" was. Cute dog, love the fuzzy face.
