I will be purchasing a new machine. They are all Kenmore which in fact are Jancome I even called to double check.

here are the Kenmores I have in narrowed down to:
18221 ($179(, 16231 ($249( , 16233 ($449) (90 warr)
19110 ($299) (25 yr war)

if it was you based on features etc which would you buy

I would get the most features that I could afford. They come in handy for different techniques that may interest you now or in the future :D:D:D

I agree buy the best you can afford so you don't out grow it soon or have problems because it was too cheap

The 16233 shows up as a gas grill. lol Did you mean the 19233?

The question is, do you want a mechanical or a computerized machine?

So far, I like the 19110 better because it has more needle positions and a tie off function. It also states that it has needle up/down option. Does this one have motor speed control? I like that feature.

The 19233 is apparently being discontinued from what I could find because it does not handle thick layers well. That was also a complaint on the 19110.

Don't really know what to tell you. Suggest reading the reviews on epinions and patternreview.

If it's definitely between those two, I would go with the one that has the needle up/down and the thread tie off. I have these features and love them!

No, I think one of them just had the wrong number code. I found a 19233 (instead of the 16233). You still have 4 (2 mechanical and 2 computerized)
