HELP!! My new chenille is a mess-help me fix it!

I did the pink/red heart chenille quilt last month. One layer of red inside 6 layers of pink flannel. Turned out great.
Now the second baby shower-the mom has a music theme, so I think, I'll put a piano keyboard in it. Same thing, 6 layers of blue, 1 layer of black & white for the keys. TOTAL DISASTER!! The white totally fades out in the baby blue and then when I took the picture, I can see that it's not even straight in the quilt.
I'm not throwing it out-so I need a fix. Any ideas? I tried stitching regular thread on top of the chenille and it just disappears in the texture. The last picture is some yarn couched on top. That might work. I think I can even "straighten" it out optically by outlining where I want the keys to be rather than where they are. That plus a Sharpie might do the trick!
Or maybe I'll just clip all the black and white out and just leave it all blue???

The orange piece of couching looks very visable. I think if you couched around the black key edges in black, they would show up more. You could poosibly write "Music" in flowing scrip up on the upper blanket to tie it all together?
You could try clipping out the keys but I don't know if you could get it cut without cutting the background. If the black is just one layer, you might be able to carefully cut close to the stitching line on both side and with a pair of tweezers or hemostats, pull out the few threads under the stitching. I ended up just ripping out the black and white. The better decision wouldve been to make that one a kitty rug and make a new one for the baby. Oh well....
It's still that really awesome texture, but now it's just all baby blue. You can't tell where I fixed it at all!
