I just posted this link on another post, but thought with all the bad weather in the USA other people might be interested.
This link is for a world wide scanner..go to your country, then state and then your county. Launch the player and you can hear all police and firechannels.
My husband is a volonteer fireman and that is how I keep track of him.

I have been using this for about a month and love it. There is an app for it as well.

Yes I always use it when he is out fighting fires,he is out right now,or anytime the weather gets bad and we are expecting tornadoes. we live out in the country, so no sirens for us to warn us.

I am a nosey bugger and always wonder what is going on when I hear a lot of sirens. This will come in handy.

Oh I wish I'd had this about 3 weeks ago. There was a helicopter circling our complex and 7 police cars outside. They finally took 2 people away.

I Use it in the office at work instead of the radio. Makes me appreciate what they do even more. When we were growing up my dad was able to keep tabs on my brother with the scanner. He never could understand how daddy was able to question him as soon as he walked in the door. Fortunately he never was in serious trouble.
