Default Quilt for an engineering major--need ideas please!

My niece will be entering college for mechanical engineering in the Fall. I'd like to make her a graduation from high school quilt to bring to school. I really don't want to do a T shirt quilt as I did that for another family member. Do you have any ideas on something clever that may relate to her major. She likes to build things, was in robotics club, etc..... Thanks in advance. You all never disappoint!

How about a Labyrinth Walk with some math/science related fabrics? I just saw a beautiful one on Tamarack Shack's blog http://tamarackshack.blogspot.com/20...th-walk-2.html

I have some of this fabric from Zen Chic and it's beautiful with the pale gray and white: https://www.fatquartershop.com/moder...etrics-yardage

My Great nephew is also graduating from high school and will be studying engineering in college. His Mom said he didn’t collect any t-shirts through High school. Found fabric that had math and chemistry equations. Used one of Deb Tucker’s Block Buster patterns. He will be playing football at the U. The U’s colors are dark & med blue and white. Since engineering seems to me to black and white I used those colors in the main part of the pattern with the school colors just in the corners of each block.
I’ll get it on the longarm in the morning.

Fibonacci or convergence quilt would be very interesting & not too difficult.

There is some awesome Big Bang Theory fabrics that have numbers and calculations. There's also another line that I can't remember the name of that has the same type of thing.

Rob Appell has one that has gears that I think is amazing. I want to make that one for my husband.
