I rescue stuff from the garage all the time - my husband laughs at what I bring in as a treasure. Good luck with your quilt. It will have a fun story to it when it is rescued.

I agree with the clean first suggestions. If you do cut it down you would have extra matching fabric for other repairs. Actually looks in pretty good shape for being out in a shed.

Clean it real good, make bed runners, baby play pad, stroller cover or car seat pad. Have fun with what ever you do with it.

I would wash in the washer after soaking, rinse and dry in dryer o low. Cut it off and finish it up. A shorter quilt would be better to me than cutting up. Just my opinion.
