It has almost a 3D Effect I love it. Agree the border will complete it beautifully.

If you think that you would like it better with lighter "lights", then make some more blocks and go with the two quilt idea. Whatever pleases you works!

You could try a border around each block or sashing around each. Lay the blocks on a light fabric and see what you think.

wonderful! Not too busy, just enough movement in it. It is lively! I love it. I don't think your pattern fabric looks medium toned at all. There is plenty of contrast and my eye moves around the quilt well without anything jumping out. Colors are balanced through out. Wonderful quilt I would be proud of!

edit: I really like the gold border. The green doesn't seem to relate to anything. Not much in the quilt. I would try a dark red or marroon or better yet dark purple with the gold. there seems to be a lot of lavender and purples in the quilt. Here is a sample of a purple border in a scrappy quilt.
It works with all the colors in it!
