A layer cake can be cut into 1/4's, and you get 4 charm packs. Lots of patterns for charms.

Hope this helps!
Cool pattern! Thanks Lynda!

I recently made Spaghetti Junction from Anka's Treasures Livin' Large 2 pattern book. I didn't use a layer cake, but it calls for 10 inch squares. Check it out here http://www.ankastreasures.com/item_3...ng-Large-2.htm. I love her patterns. I've made six quilts from her books-- so far.

it's wonderful for companies to put together their collections in such ways as jelly rolls, layer cakes, etc., but would it bother them to come up with a pattern sample for using their collections?

(Whenever I step outside my box like this I am always reminded as to WHY I operate that way! lol)

What I found that I wanted to do is http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/08/...ake-quilt.html but it's not going to work because that is very clearly lights and darks and I have more lights and mediums, with a couple darks. I am making this for someone very very dear to me and want it to be just right! I thought about doing the hourglass pattern, but she wasn't a fan of it, liking "squares" more than "triangles". I know I could make that one by buying white as the light, but I have two layer cakes and don't want to buy more if I can avoid it. PLEASE help me come up with something (relatively easy, but not boring)

I'm using the flora layer cake to do a key hole block quilt. Look at that from Jenny Doan tutorials. It's squares well rectangles and looks fun and fast!!
