This may be a stupid question but what is the minimum number of colors you need to make a bargello?

5 inch squares ok,you must start up at the top left.Have you gotten your fabric yardage figured out?I think I'm going to use my stash. This sure would help getting rid of a lot of it.

I have wanted to do one of these but was very intimidated when I would start to read the pattern directions. This chart is so helpful, it makes me think that I can give it a try. I will have to add this to my list for 2011.

Well, I have a strange question.

I though all bargellos were made by sewing strips together, cutting them apart side to side, then sewing them back together with moving the strips up or down. You said that this one was made with squares. Do others make their bargellos with squares also? Are they all made starting with squares? (or rectangles?)

That sounds like so much more work! This surprises me!
