Thank you for the info on a regular. I am new and have seen that under the names and wondered how it worked.

Good luck with your move!
I AM a regular here. I joined when this board first started. I guess I just don't post enough for people to remember me. But thanks for the reminder, I'll start thinking about how to put my sellables on the classified posts here. That's the best way to make sure someone will love them as much as I have.
What she means is that you have to have a certain amount of posts in a certain amount of time so that it says "regular" under your name. It really doesn't have anything to do with when you joined.

yeppers sell it on here and only accept Paypal on it. If you are trying to pack fabric what I did when I moved was buy totes(rubbermaid type) I spend a little more on them but I still use them.

Yeah, I do know that. But what I guess I didn't realize is that if you even stop posting for a short while, as I have done in the last couple of weeks, the word "regular" is removed from under your picture . So, in order to be a real regular you'd have to post very frequently even if you don't have much to say. Which must be why I don't have the very important word "regular" under my name right now. But maybe this bunch of posts will put me back on the "A" list again. At least I hope so, or I won't be able to list my stuff in the classifieds. 8-)

If you're like me, my regular user comes and goes. Lots of times I just read, but don't feel like I have anything new to contribute. What I would say has already been said. :D

How far of a move it is? I just moved last summer and packed it all up in storage totes and took it along. I did have more boxed in my sewing room then there were for 3 other rooms of my house but hey my entire stash made the move with me... and I got to organize it when I got to the new place.

Bev, if you live in Gainesville and are a member of the day guild (if I correctly recognize you from your photo) you could always box up what you want to divest of at the October Treasure Sale. Perhaps a good friend could sell what you wish to make money on without any "right now" hassles of shipping and payments, and send you the proceeds - at least it'd be out of your face quickly enough since time is short. You could also have an Open House, whereby guild members and friends could stop by and make an offer on what you wish to sell (add cookies and coffee and I'll bet you'd be inundated!). Just a few ideas, anyway!

Just never let the movers move your sewing machines. They always go in the van along with my quilts and DH's computers. We have moved so many times. If it's going into storage for a while, I put anything I don't want to have water damage in plastic totes. More expensive than boxes, but has saved so many things from being damaged. Plastic bags for smaller things is a great idea too.

if you have items you want to (un-load) i would check with the local senior center, convelescence homes (sp) and women's resource center. check to see if there is a local guild that works on community projects...any of these would happily accept your donations
