If you look at my picture, I have just finished a book block quilt. It is also a memory quilt for my daughters high school graduation. I have photos of her favorite teachers and quotes from them. But now, I am not certain how to quilt it. Any suggestions?

I would outline quilt the items, and then free motion quilt things about her in the larger plain areas.

I draft my ideas of what I want to say on paper, draw the area that is to be quilted, say a rectangle, write out the message so I can space it, and then go to the quilt. This way I know my message will fit.

Quilt is wonderful, good luck

I would just quilt in all the ditches, outlining the books and the shelves and frames, and then maybe (if the shelves are wide enough) put some "wood grain" in them. It's a very nice quilt, very creative.

Very clever quilt. I'm with Dunster...keep it simple so the bookshelf effect is not overwhelmed.

If you feel up to it you could make your comments on the spines of the books using different colored thread but then do something small or meandering in the more open areas.

Print out a few pictures of it on copy paper, then you can draw some ideas on it using colored pens and see what you like :D:D:D
