I just received a ruler today that I ordered recently. It is called an 8" Bias Square ruler. I must have seen a video on it somewhere and decided I wanted it but now I can't find it anywhere and I have no idea how to use the ruler. The instructions are confusing. It seems you use two fat quarters and make bias strips and then use the ruler to make triangles somehow. Does anyone know where I might have seen this demo. It's made by Nancy Martin from the patchwork place. I feel stupid that I bought something I don't know how to use.

Lol, don't feel stupid.......I have lots of stuff I have no idea how to use! At least you are asking, which is more than I can say for myself. When I get my sewing room set up, and get to go through all my moms stuff, I will be asking about quit a bit, needing to know the how toos and what is it... Lol I'm sure someone on here will know.......

It looks like you sew two strips of fabric together. Place the bias line of the ruler on the seam line and cut around the ruler.
Basically strip piecing 1/2 sq triangles :D:D:D

Maybe you bought it to square up your HST's?

Here's some more info. on this website. Check "bias square ruler"
and follow the links for "squaring up".

That is the link to the ruler, but I still don't know how to use it. I must have seen a demonstration of it somewhere otherwise would not have wanted it.

the patchwork place has tutorials to use their tools- or go to Nancy Martins blog-
but you can use it many ways-
and one is so you do not have to deal with sewing bias edges---sew strips together- line up the line on the ruler with the seam- cut around the ruler-makes 1/2 square triangles squares without dealing with bias
