Default Have you used flannel as batting?

I have a small quilt top made for my toddler and want to finish it up, but, I'm concerned that traditional batting will be too hot for him--he's a sweater. I want the crinkly quilted look, and I wonder if flannel (1 or 2 layers?) will be enough to give me that look.
I searched the archives and saw that people have discussed it, but, I wanted to ask directly what your experience has been and if maybe you'd post a photo of something quilted with flannel as a batting?

    Thanks, all!

I used flannel for the batting on a rag quilt for my grandson and it worked just fine. One layer would probably be fine.

I have used flannel on projects and it works great. Just wash it first is my advice.

I have used flannel as batting on lots of my baby quilts, I love it as it lays softly and is so cuddly. I wash and dry it in the dryer before using it.

I have not but thank you ladies for the advise. Sounds like it would be really nice for any quilt that you want super soft and cuddly. Thank you again
