DITTO on adding onto the house!!!!

I stuck one end of a roll into a garbage bag and then stored it standing on end in a closet.

It sounds like a lot of you are in the same boat as me. Currently one is in the spare bedroom covered in plastic and the other is still in the box sitting under my frame, which is a real pain in the butt when needing to use it.
Get it out of the box and put it back in...UGG

No closet in my sewing room, boy if I did I could hide all kinds of things!

That's how I store mine, too, except I don't have a long arm so I put up a dowel across the top of what used to be a closet in my sewing room. I just pull it down and cut off what I need. I left the original clothing rod intact but lowered it a tad, and I have quilt tops on hangers on it.

I like the idea of cutting a split in the box and using it out of the box.

This is why I bring mine to someone else to do.

LOL

I have a spare bathroom/laundry room next to my quilt studio (so customers have use of a bathroom). But I store my batting on end in the bathtub. When I need to cut it, I lay it across the washer and dryer and use the edge of the machines as my straight line to cut it. So far it's been working great that way and I don't have to worry about it getting all the dust on it from longarming and sewing.

Well, mine WAS covered in a garbage bag in the corner until my stinker kittens discovered it. Now they have been using it as a cat tower (they have a very nice one we made) and have chewed the bag, gotten hair all over the top of the batting and tuffted it all over from the climbing. Uuuuurrrrgggggg. I am still trying to think of a good way to protect it. There isn't a place to hang it until the oldest kids move out (in 4 years!).
