Default Singer feather weight machine?

Where do I find the model number information? I have looked on the machine and so far all I have found is an AD with numbers behind it. I think it's the serial # and not the model number.

I might be wrong but I thought the featherweight only came out in 2 models. The 221 and the 222 which you could use as a free arm.
maybe this will help http://planetpatchwork.com/fweight.htm.
Lucky you, I would love to own one.

If I'm not mistaken, the model number is not badged on the featherweights. The serial number (which you have found) will have to be looked up at the following site:

http://www.ismacs.net/home.html

The key to the FW's are a) flip up bed and b) small size (about 11 lbs without case).

Thank you both so much.
It's a 221 feather wt.
The bed does flip up and it is small. She's a beauty.

Congratulations....I love my Featherweight 221...she has never failed me and she is so easy to feed and care for after a long few weeks of sewing.

The AD # is the one that you can look up to see when and where it was made.

Right away the AD tells me that it was one of the earlier models and it was made in the U.S. A serial numbers were made in the New Jersey plant in the U.S.A. and models with serial numbers beginning with an E were made in Europe (Clydebank Scotland). Some later model featherweights ( 1958 or so and newer) had the model number 221 or 221K for example on the front near the Singer seal but the earlier versions did not.
