How to enlarge pattern using graft paper
I have never enlarged a pattern using this method. I just accept the size I have and deal with it. I'm making a quilt that has several pieces to the block. The pattern is for a finished 9 inch block. I'd like to make it larger, maybe 12 inch. Where do I start?

draw a grid over the top of the picture- then grid another paper in the enlarged size- draw each square from the original grid into the corresponding square on the enlarged grid.
or- photo copy the pattern- enlarging to 125% or 150% (if you go to a copy shop they can help you figure out exactly the amount you need to enlarge for the size you want.)

ITA with Holice ... with no picture or name of the pattern, any suggestions given may not have any relevance.
Many patterns are made in more than one size, and the answer may be just a google away from you ... and save a lot of work via graph paper.
Or perhaps this is the David and Goliath pattern that Holice already helped you with yesterday?

my first inclination is enlarge the thing on a copier but because of the small odd shaped pieces I'm afraid they would be somewhat distorted and not go together accurately.

It's pretty straight forward, so I'm not sure why you would want to ... reinvent the wheel, so to say?

You can use the free trial of Rapid Resizer Online:
