Default How to finish quilt

I finished the blocks today, but im not sure if i should add something in between them or just sew the blocks straight to each other, pros or cons to either choice? This quilt is for my kiddo, so i just want it to look nice for him

I think you could go either way. If you want the quilt to be larger, you could add sashing. Your quilt is going to be beautiful.

With or without sashing, your quilt is going to be awesome.

I did a search on Pinterest and Google for LeMoyne star quilts. There are lots of great pictures with lots of ideas! I like the sashings. They frame the stars and really makes them stand out

It's nice as it, but I think it would look really sharp with some narrow black sashing.

I agree with Dunster. Decide on size of quilt as to whether you add sashing and / or borders.

It's very nice. I'm agreeing with those who say your desired finished size should determine what you do next. If you add sashing and make the quilt bigger, it will highlight the stars nicely. However if you keep it the size it is now, those stars make some interesting secondary patterns. Either way, it's a winner!

P.S. Please update this thread with your choice. Plus a picture of the finished quilt if you can....

If you use sashing the same color as the background, your blocks will look like they're floating.

Usually I will add sashing so that if my points are not exact, it doesn't show as much. It also helps add more width and length to a quilt.
