I thought about that is AM, funny to see your post..

I think I will start a diary of my quilt tops. I know there is a lot of time in some patterns and more in others.

Interesting question.. Never really sit and do one all at once. Would be interesting to know.

Thanks for the post !

When I make quilt tops, I usually cut and piece in 1-3 days. Then it takes me some motivation to get it sandwiched and basted. Then I hand quilt. This is where the process slows, but it's my favorite part!

It really depends. Some patterns are very hard and I have to really be in the right mood to tackle them. SO I have a wide range of time tables.

About a month for a queen or king size quilt top. I find that being organized and keeping it laid out helps me! When I am not sewing, I just place a towel over it on my cutting table. When I am ready, I just remove my towel and start again.

I usually can finish, and sandwich in a week but I hand quilt and that takes me longer depending on how much quilting I do. I have been working on two twin size and I am almost finished quilting the second one and then I can bind the two, will show pictures when I am done.

I'd say you are doing great. Try to sew about half hour each eve. Can you leave your machine up and ready to use? Are you chain piecing the squares onto the block? That would help. Keep at it and you will be done before you know it.

I did a crib sized snow ball quilt and it took me about a month.

I don't sew for hours a day...some days I don't or can't sew at all. I like not having a deadline, but I find I get more accomplished when I do. So my double sized gift quilts for Christmas only took me a few weeks each, where the much smaller crib quilt for my son took me a month.
