Default Are you sewing anything special for fall?

Looking in the JoAnn flyer, they have 40% off Harvest fabrics. sigh...just when I'm determined to not buy more fabric! A few years back I had made some fall placemats that I had given to my mother, and when she passed away my sister took them but I haven't seen them around since Is that a good enough reason for me to buy fall fabric? I LOVE the color orange, and the brightness of the colors when they first start to turn, which they are already doing here in NH.

So...do you sew special for fall? What are you making?

Yep. This pumpkin table mat. https://www.primitivegatherings.us/s...table-mat.html

I took a class on wool applique at LQS using this kit. So exited!

Can you maybe raid your stash for anything that looks fall-like? Even basic solids in red, orange, yellow or brown can create a special quilted item for autumn with a little creativity and the right pattern. I bet if you love orange fabric that much, you might surprise yourself with some beautiful special find right in your own stash! I have a very small collection of fabrics & even I have been surprised sometimes at the perfect fabrics I forget about and find anew.

I am not going to tell you to go buy more fabric as I have the same problem and am staying away! I have too much now, can't even move in my studio! So don't go to JoAnn"s, I said.

Nothing for fall here. (Being red/green/brown colorblind means harvest colors are lost on me.) But I'm testing techniques and hoping to speed up production on a big project I want to have done by Christmas.

I don't quilt anything for the fall. If I make anything, it is for Christmas. I mostly do charity quilt which I use mostly non holiday fabric.

Wait...we're supposed to have a REASON to buy fabric?!?!...Now you tell me!

Compromise, buy a yard of the fall fabric and use your stash to fill in...of course they will probably have coordinating fabrics....hmmm...not helping am I??

I bought some gorgeous fall pumpkin fabric last year from a friend who was thinning her stash. I just finished quilting 6 placemats, though I do still have to put the binding on. I still will have a pretty good amount left over, and I am thinking of some type of table runner or table topper, but I haven't decided yet. I will post the placemats when I finish them.
