Husquivarna Sewing Machine:
My sis has a Husquivarna Saphire 875 Quilts & she is having trouble with the settings. The machine automaticly goes to 4.6 but it just doesnt work unless she sets it to 4.0. Does anyone else here have a problem like that, or is it alright to set it to that? Thankyou. Eva

Is it a particular stitch that she can't get to 4.6? What exactly happens, does it not work at all on that setting? Each stitch has different settings, then if you adjust the thickness from B to C, for example, it changes the settings to a longer stitch.

I had this very same problem with my Sapphire 870 that I bought on Ebay. I was always having to adjust the tension setting before I could sew. Took it into Viking dealer/repair person for a different problem, and they gave it a complete overhall or tuning. Since then I have had no problems with tension. It is set at the 4.6 and sews beautifully now. Maybe you should just get a tune up.

Is it for piecing or for quilting? There are also buttons near the bottom on my 870 screen that you need to remember to use, A, B, C for the different weights of quilt sandwich. And if I use anything other than the 50 wt thread I have to manually adjust my tensions as well. You can use whatever tension you want to, as long as it works for you.
