In my house? 8-10. For sewing, three. One big pair for fabric, small thread snips and another big pair for non fabric sewing related things - mostly templates.

I seems to collect thread snips more than shears, although I do have 3 pair for dressmaking. I like a pair of snips tucked into my travel tool bags so I can work on the go. I do keep multiple travel bags with hand piecing appliqué blocks. What I really need to acquire are more rotary cutters. I can only find one.

Oh, I have about a kazilllion or so...I can't pass up a pair at an estate sale and I have purchased some and have been given sewing supplies, etc. Can't have too many especially when you are looking for one and all of a sudden they are in hiding

Please tell me we don't have to start keeping track of our scissors as well as our stash! It's best that I don't know how many I have - as well as how many other sewing gadgets.

I have LOTS of scissors - different brands and different sizes. Have no idea how many and I'm not sure I want to know. I love the ginghers the best though.

Not that many. Now ask me about rotary cutters. That is a different story.
