I've never made one, but my aunt had given me one. I've never used it because I don't cook my potatoes in the microwave.

I like the idea of using it for tortilla and rolls.

There is also a batting made specifically for these now by Warm Company, called "Warm Tater."

LQS near where I live sells them for $5, owner says she has to make up a new batch just about every week.

Heres a picture of the ones i do... sell them for 13.75 with a nylon net scrubbie...use them to keep rolls warm,corn on the , sweet potatoes, tortilla . There so many uses.. i didn't want to look at another at christmas time.. i made so many..

I don't use any batting in mine. Just cotton quilt fabric for the outside and flannel for the lining. Make sure everything is 100% cotton, including thread. No batting would cut down on the cost and this works fine. This is what I've seen at craft shows around here. I don't remember what the price was.
