I think weather conditions hurt the cotton crop in recent times.

I'm from Ontario as well and we only have Fabricland and Len's Mills local. I look forward to seeing your new online website for shopping. Do you have a 'name' for it yet so I can look it up?

Hi and thanks for your interest.

I'm still tossing around some name ideas but hope to have one registered shortly.

I've been getting a lot of really great responses from everyone.

Seems even though prices in the US are lower than here, by the time you account for the exchange rates and shipping up here to Canada, it works out close to what we're paying up here now.

I hope to find suppliers with decent prices so I can offer fabrics Online to us "Canucks" at equally decent prices - I won't be carrying as many overhead costs as storefront retailers which in turn should allow me to keep my pricing low(er).

I'm keeping track of all responses received and will let everyone know when my Website is up and running and I have "stuff" to offer.

Regards,
Denise

Here in Ireland fabric retails at 20.50 dollars per meter and warm and natural at 26 dollars per meter.

Holy S*****t!!!!! And I thought we were suffering. Surely hope it doesn't get that bad here.

If it does, next thing you know, we'll have to resort to ripping cotton clothes off peoples backs just to get fabric so we can continue to quilt. LOL

Quilt store prices are up to about $10.95. I only buy on sale. I have enough stash fabric that I can wait.

Good luck with your endeavor. We could certainly do with an on-line store north of the border with reasonable prices! Just let us know when you are set up and we can all check it out. Right now I do some on-line shopping from the U.S. but usually like to stock up when on vacation and traveling throughout the States. The difference in prices for cottons between the two countries is notable especially when one does a lot of quilting as we all seem to.
