Talking New to me Sewing Table :D

The other day I was at a second hand store and there it was... sitting there, unknown to most as to what it was. I recognized it immediately! A portable sewing table! I was checking it out and a friend asked me what it was and as I told her a woman nearby looked at me and then started to circle around. I wasn't going to leave that table's side until I decided if I wanted it or not. It was a no brainer. I don't have a extended table for my machine and this handy dandy thing did and it was marked $20. I went online to see how much they sell for online and this vintage baby has been selling on Ebay for $40 plus about $25 in shipping so it came home with me. I figure I could resell it if I don't like it...

Well. I don't think I'm going to sell it. I'm planning to go on a few weekend retreats with my guild so it's mine mine mine! Sadly it isn't the same height as the rest of my tables in my craft room so I don't see being able to fully integrate it with the rest of my furniture but I'm so tickled to have it and my machine slides in it as if it were meant to be!

I really really really need to clean my craft room. I had it clean and now it's out of control again. I was on a mad quilt making whirlwind for two nearly last minute family weddings.

Looks like it was made for your machine. What a lucky find!

Wow! So glad you got it! You know, I saw one of those a while back for sale on craigslist, and I didn't know what it was, and why it looked like that. I'd have bought it if I had known it was a portable table, because I don't have one, and could really use one. What we don't learn on here! Thanks for letting us all know what that is. Next time I see one, I'll be ready to buy it.

That's a great find. I found my Featherweight table in a thrift store - you just never know what you will find.

Great find.

I don't know if this table is lower or higher than the others, but just an FYI:

PVC piping is a very cheap way to raise the table height a couple of inches or a foot, whatever you need.
Cheaper than bed riser from BB&B.

I have a table like that. When I bought my Pfaff in 1983, I got that table with it. It is a nice table, sturdy but a little bit short.

When I bought by Bernina 730 Record in 1969 it came with a table just like this. And it was soooo handy. I used to just set it up in my BR and sew in there.

And sadly, a bunch of years ago, a friend was looking for one and I gave it to her. At the time I was using my dining room table for sewing. Many times I have regretted *gifting* my sewing table to her.

Those things are just great .... and really do fold up easily and fit right under the bed!!
