It does not matter if we like it or not. It is important if you like it. You have put so much work and energy into it, so finish it and put it away. Take it out in several months and look at it again. If you still do not like the way it looks, it is going to make an amazing gift for somebody on your holiday list. Good luck!

Oh I know that my opinion is most important. But that is why I double checked with you wonderful quilters. I just couldnt figure out what was wrong. The idea for gray was good, it just doesnt work well with the flowers. But I bet it would look nice with either bright solid flowers or smokey batiks. I love working with the hexes so I was already planning more. The gray will get used just not with my pretty 30's repro flowers.

I want a bit of handsewing to do, so I'm starting s GFG, but I'm going to do the flowers and appliqué them to a square block, instead of piecing them traditionally like you have. I'm hoping it will cut down on the "wrestling" and make it into a project I can actually complete. We'll see!

Well, that is one way my UFO's happen! I have four that are in various stages of assembly the oldest I have been working on 3 or 4 years. I am attaching the 4th border today! Of course, the way I chose to quilt the border is going to take me about 10 hours for each side and I only have one side and a smidge of a second, so I am still many hours away from completion. But this is the year!!! Another is still in blocks and one needs one more border quilted and added to the quilt and then bound, Another is in about 5 large pieces (already quilted) and needs to be put together. I think I will get to them before dementia sets in.

I think it works with the setting diamonds. ( I suggested green because I like leaf colors with flowers) It has a cool serenity. LOL try some solid green setting diamonds---I haven't given up on the leaves.

It's lovely ... you're just tired of doing the same old thing ... it happens to all of us. Take a SHORT break and it won't become a UFO, stay away too long and it will.

I had a friend who would put all pieces for on group in a bag by itself. She only worked on it in the car on long trips when someone else was driving or do it in front of the TV doing only one a day or so. That way you can work on something else along with. It will be finished before you know it.

I think it's pretty! I want to do a GFG some day also. I think you probably just need a break from it. I do that all the time, I'll stop and make some pillowcases, baby bibs, quick little stuff. Today I made a self-binding receiving blanket, love it!

You might want to try using a white on white background. A friend of mine once found one with a green tint. I wish I had bought the bolt, it really set off my flowers I was working on which I was using a basic white. If I wan't so far done I would have taken it all apart but was over half way done on my queen size quilt.

You will love your quilt when it's done.
