OLD patterns...to me, these look like photo copies, definitely NOT original and not from the 30's!

Shouldn't that be Lemoyne Star, not Lemon star? ;-)

some of the patterns are older than 30's and the ad does say from the 30's & up---i did not see anywhere where it said they were 'original' patterns- just that there are alot of quilting patterns- of quilts from the 30's & newer-
i noticed a couple that are much older (based) than that- and as for the 'lemon star' there are places that do call it that- i have an old quilt pattern book (1970's) that has it listed as a lemon star....different regions have their own names for many old blocks- there are about a dozen different names for what some of us call the 'drunkards path'
if you are looking for older- traditional quilt block patterns those would probably be worth looking through

It is hard to tell what they are. They look like they are in envelops. There was a posting on Craigs List several months ago about a similar grouping. If they are original then in my opinion they are useful only to a quilt historian/collector. The same patterns are available in many many books. Im not sure a historian would pay the asking price. Over priced, Over priced.

The fonts on some of the envelopes appear quite modern. Some of the patterns could have originated in the 1930s yet not be original prints. It almost appears as if someone had belonged to a pattern club and received periodic mailings or some individual had a business selling traditional patterns. I remember when patterns were hard to find except for Mountain Mist and a quilter had to draft from examples in books like Marguerite Ickis or The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt. It was a wonderful day when Quilters' Newsletter was launched in black and green ink and then full color.

The other possibility was that the original owner collected the patterns offered in newspapers and other periodicals.

Perhaps the $100 is a typo.
